The winner will receive a cash prize of 30,000 euros
Fundación MAPFRE has launched the tenth edition of the Julio Castelo Matrán International Insurance Award. The biyearly award with a cash prize of 30,000 euros aims to recognize scientific research work on matters related to insurance and social protection.
This award is open to individuals or institutions that have conducted scientific research work that led to the expansion of insurance activities in society, and contributed to economic stability and solidarity with insurance and/or social protection. The scientific work must be unpublished or published within the last three years and must also have potential for application in other countries or regions.

This award is organized in homage to Julio Castelo Matrán, former Chairman of MAPFRE from 1990 to 2001, and one of the driving forces behind the company’s development.
