Across 26 countries in which MAPFRE operates, 6,700 employees volunteered by planting over 1,500 trees and collecting more than 7 tons of garbage in 51 different activities held around the globe.
The aim of this initiative was to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our environment. Corporate Volunteering forms an integral part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy of the MAPFRE Group.
This was the second consecutive year, in which employees of MAPFRE Middlesea and MAPFRE MSV Life chose to help in Malta’s afforestation plans by planting trees. The CEOs of both companies also participated in this event.
“We cannot stress enough the importance of planting trees. They give off oxygen that we need to breathe and they are home for many birds and mammals. It is amazing to see so many volunteers across the globe coming together for one goal,” Felipe Navarro, CEO of MAPFRE Middlesea said.
Throughout the year, MAPFRE Malta organises a number of initiatives through which employees offer their time to help out in the community. “ It is our duty to give back to the community in which we operate in. Such activities motivate our volunteers further and educate them about the importance of being a responsible citizen,” Ines Silva, HR Chief Officer of MAPFRE Middlesea said.
