Pine trees donated by MAPFRE Middlesea planted at Savio College
A number of trees were planted at Savio College, a sponsorship provided by MAPFRE Middlesea for the festive season.
In the run up to Christmas, Form 3 Savio College students participated in an activity where they planted a number of Pine trees.
“This noble gesture will not only serve to educate our students at Savio College but also will contribute to embellish the landscape and give much needed lungs to our country,” Fr Jeremy Dalli, coordinator at Salesians said.
“Christmas is a time of giving and sharing – and this year we wanted to share this with the boys at Savio College. It is our way of giving back,” Felipe Navarro, CEO at MAFRE Middlesea said.
This initiative forms part of the company’s CSR Programme, through which it works with a number of entities and NGOs to improve the standard of living of the community. In the past year, the company has worked with Nature Trust, Appoġġ, Blood Transfusion Bank, Inspire Foundation and Pink October movement among others.
