Chairman Martin Galea and CEO Felipe Navarro decided that the money collected by employees for their gifts would go for a more noble gesture instead. The money collected was divided among three main charitable institutions – St Patrick’s Residential Service, The Millennium Chapel and The Little Sisters of the Poor.
A new television set was bought for the boys living at St Patrick’s residential services, as the previous one needed replacing. St.Patrick’s residential services welcome adolescents and young persons who need a home away from home due to personal or social circumstances. Youngsters are accompanied by residential social workers who prepare the boys to become independent.
A donation was also given to The Millenium Chapel, which was used to provide hampers of food for families in need. The donation was received by Fr Hilary Tagliaferro.
The Little Sisters of the Poor also received a donation from the company, which was used to buy Christmas gifts for children coming from difficult social contexts.
In addition, MAPFRE Middlesea contributed towards l-Istrina through events throughout the year.
MAPFRE Middlesea p.l.c. (C-5553) is authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority to carry on both Long Term and General Business under the Insurance Business Act, 1998.
