Throughout the morning, the employees helped a group of elderly residents prepare a fruit desert – which was later distributed to all 150 residents after lunch.
Later on, two separate acoustic music sessions were held in the dining area for two groups of residents, with the elderly joining in singing and playing percussion instruments. On the day, MSV Life also donated 30 books to Casa Arkati, which was added to the residency’s library.
“We want to thank both companies for this initiative – it sure did bring a smile on our residents’ faces. We do hope you’ll be back soon,” Facility Manger Carl Caruana said.
This activity is one of a series of activities within the CSR Programme, through which the companies help out entities working for the community, both financially and through events in which employees participate.
“The company does its best to give back to the community it operates in – this is also in line with the social work Fundacion Mapfre does. We are aware of the dedication and commitment of those working in homes for the elderly and we wanted to show our appreciation, by allowing our employees to spend some time with the residents,” Ana Zammit Munro, Head of Marketing at MAPFRE Middlesea, said.
The event was held in collaboration with Volcare, a project between CareMalta and SOS Malta to enhance voluntary services at residents for the elderly.
