MAPFRE Middlesea and MSV Life, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service, recently held a blood drive outside Middlesea House in Floriana, allowing employees to donate the gift of life.
The blood drive, held on 23 August 2016, saw almost 30 individuals donating blood in a span of 5 hours. Blood donors included employees from MAPFRE Middlesea, MSV Life as well as some walk-ins on the day.
The event is in line with the Group’s CSR Programme, through which the companies contribute back to the society in which they operate in.
“We are aware of the constant demand for blood donors and as a Group; we are always willing to help the community in different ways possible. We also want to thank the National Blood Transfusion Service for the indispensible service they carry out,” Norman Mifsud, Chief Officer HR & Corporate Services at MSV Life, said.
Research has shown that an average of 50 bags of blood is required in Malta on a daily basis. Those who are interested in donating blood can visit the main offices in Gwardamangia or call on 2123 4767.
