October is dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer – one of the leading causes of death for women in Malta. It is estimated that one in every eight women in Malta will suffer from the disease during the course of their life, however, discovering the cancer in its early stages can reduce the risks by 90%. Research has shown that over a third of all breast cancer occurrences can be avoided entirely.
After posting a group photo on its social networks, MAPFRE Middlesea is now nominating four insurance companies to do the same – all for a good cause. Nominees are Gasan Mamo, Elmo, Atlas and Citadel Insurance.
In addition to raising awareness about the campaign on its social platform, employees of MAPFRE Middlesea will be donating funds for Pink October. The funds will then be distributed to the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation and Europa Donna – the Breast Cancer Support Group. Each month, funds are collected for a particular cause and the October collection will go towards this deserving incentive.
Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Felipe Navarro also participated in the photo.
Let’s unite to join in the fight against breast cancer!
