MSV Life p.l.c., Malta’s leading life insurance company will be the Main Sponsor of the Top Entrepreneur of The Year Awards 2014.
Following on the success achieved in 2012 and 2013, The Top Entrepreneur of the Year Awards will return for the 3rd edition this year. Bearing the theme “Creating a Culture of Excellence”, the awards seek to recognize the achievements and vital contributions made by outstanding entrepreneurs to our economy at local and international level. Over the years, these awards have showcased some of the most promising entrepreneurs in Malta and Gozo bringing together upcoming talent and established businessmen.
This year’s awards will be presented during a gala dinner which will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel.
David G. Curmi, CEO of MSV Life remarked that the company was eager “to see a stronger entrepreneurial culture in Malta across all sectors. As a country we must not just develop home-grown entrepreneurs but also attract non-Maltese entrepreneurs to our country. Skilled, ethical, visionary talent is in critically short supply”.
Mr. Curmi stated that by lending MSV Life’s name to these awards the company was emphasising its belief that entrepreneurship is the leading force for economic growth. Research shows that 4% of the world’s entrepreneurs create 40% of its jobs. “A better world must foster sustainable growth based on strong fundamentals such as innovation and a broader talent pool. When entrepreneurship is supported and fostered appropriately, it plays a vital role in building strong economies,” Mr. Curmi stated.
Mr. Curmi concluded “The MSV Life Top Entrepreneur of the Year Awards is one of the few events in the country that recognizes the achievements of entrepreneurs and encourages entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs do not just need capital and access to finance, they also need access to other business leaders who can serve as mentors, advisers, connectors, investors, role models and they also need recognition and encouragement”.
