MSV Life p.l.c. is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Elena Steflea as Chief Medical Officer within the Underwriting Unit of MSV Life.
A Romanian national, Dr. Steflea has studied medicine at the Universities of Constanta & Bucharest and in 1996 she became a member of the Romanian College of Physicians. After graduating she started her career as a G.P. both in the Romanian National Health Service and in the private sector. After 10 years she decided to specialise in insurance medicine and furthered her career as an insurance medical practitioner.
Since 2006 Elena worked as an underwriter and claims manager for Aviva, KD Life and Axa Re. During this time she underwent training at Gen Re, Munich Re and Swiss Re where she passed all the CII accredited Underwriting & Claims courses. She is well versed in all aspects of life, disability and health insurance and in 2009 she also wrote an article on risk factors of cardiovascular disease on the newsletter ‘The SCORE Risk Charts – A Critical Assessment’ – Underwriting Focus 2/2009.
