MAPFRE Middlesea Continues Support for the Salesian Sisters’ Mission in Benin

MAPFRE Middlesea is proud to renew its support for the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco in their ongoing initiative: United for the Protection of Girls and Children in Benin. Last year’s donation allowed them to provide essential hygiene products and sanitary wear, which were personally delivered by a volunteer, Fay. Representing Friends of Don Bosco in Malta, Fay travelled to Benin to meet with Sister Yvonne and the Salesian Sisters, who work tirelessly to protect young girls from exploitation at the Dantokpa market in Cotonou.

Many of these girls are trafficked under the traditional practice of “vidomegòn,” with families unknowingly placing their children at risk. The Salesian Sisters have launched several projects, including a counselling center and the House of Hope, which offers safe sleeping quarters and literacy courses.

This year, MAPFRE Middlesea is once again donating to support these vital initiatives. We invite the public to join us in helping to provide safety, education, and hope for a brighter future for these vulnerable children.
